Travel Preparations post COVID
Whatever reasons one may have for traveling at such a difficult time, everyone needs to understand the seriousness of this pandemic.
· Facemasks: Wear your facemask at all times while you are traveling either by car or by air. Keep both our nose and your mouth covered. Traveling by air or by car you need to be responsible for your health and others as well.
· Means of travel: Ensure that you’re following all SOP’s and if, for instance, you’re traveling by bus or by air book your means of travel considering their practices as well. Before booking the tickets make sure that they are arranging travel in a way that prevents spreading by ensuring social distancing.
· Booking hotels: People often left booking hotels to do the task on-spot after reaching the destination. However, travel prep for COVID requires you to be extra careful. Hence, one should book the hotel beforehand to avoid going to multiple places before deciding on where to stay. Also, one needs to be cautious that the hotel you’re booking is also up to date regarding the cleaning standards introduced by the CDC’s guidelines.
· COVID test: Another essential step that has been added post-COVID is to get tested before traveling. You won’t be allowed to travel out of state unless you’ve been tested negative for COVID.
· Symptoms of COVID: Before getting tested you should read about the symptoms of COVID-19 and see for yourself if you are exhibiting any of them. Some of the common symptoms are fever, coughing, shortness of breath, etc.
· Carry disinfectants: Now this doesn’t only mean carrying sanitizers for your hands, it means carrying disinfecting soaps, detergent, cleaning sprays, etc.
· Don’t trust the internet: During the pandemic, working hours at every place have altered and some may not be open for service at all. Hence, while booking a resort make sure to call in instead of checking the internet.
· Packing: While doing your usual holiday travel prep make sure that you’re packing enough supplies to last for the whole trip so that you don’t have to stop at the pharmacy to restock your meds or other stuff.
