The Twin Cities are not a go-to vacation or holiday place for many, but it has surprisingly much to offer. Local Delicacies

Offering some delicious local delicacies, the Twin Cities food scene is thriving. The dishes of the Minnesota region unbeknownst to the rest deserve a shout out. The top three most popular local food offered by the locals are:

1.     Bars

One of Minnesota's most famous desserts is the Bars, referring to a cookie or brownie-like confections that have the texture of a firm cake. Prepared in a pan and baked in the oven, they are sliced into squares and served at birthdays, bake sales, and almost every other event.

2.     Juicy Lucy

A dish that has recently gone popular all over the nation but has been a long-old tradition in Minnesota, it is named as Juicy Lucy. The concept is to stuff your hamburgers with cheese and other ingredients before putting it on the grill. The melted cheese which cooks inside the burger keeps it nice and juicy, hence the name.

3.     Wild Rice

White rice or brown rice is commonly heard of, but in Minnesota, black rice is famous. Officially named wild rice, it's also labeled Minnesota rice by locals because 80 percent of all this rice comes from the state. It is noteworthy that wild rice is not rice but an annual seed of water-grass, which is naturally plentiful in cold rivers and lakes. There's nothing better than wild rice grown locally to offer you a nutritious, flavorful meal.
